Inner Power Meditation - How to Feel Happy, Energized, Alive, and Free

You are never stuck. There are always options and new realities available.

When one door closes, endless doors are STILL open. When one thought limits you, endless thoughts are still available. The more you feel a sense of the Infinite inside, the more spiritual power you have.

How to feel it?

Look up at the sky or at the ocean and visualize becoming ONE with them. Look with child-like wonder.

How to Stop Complaining: 7 Commitments to Expand Your Capacity for Happiness

Whether you complain out loud or complain in your head, complaining is one of the surest ways to stay locked in a limiting mindset. Complaining locks us into victimhood.

Becoming complaint-free makes a huge difference.  It takes commitment and self honesty to break free. Here is something I wrote to help us make this transformation:

Letting go of complaints is facilitated by making a new “contract” with yourself.  In other words, the ingredients which fuel stress-free living are simple and powerful new agreements. I am talking about inner agreements, commitments with yourself. It’s important to realize that you can create new agreements with yourself.  Silent ones.  Powerful ones.  Confidential ones. 

Here is a list of seven powerful self-agreements or self-commitments to make that will start to untangle you from the web of mental noise, complaints, and stress:

1.  I commit to treat mind chatter as a teacher, showing me what is true and what is illusion.

2.  I agree to take new action when I feel stuck on the treadmill of complaining.

3.  I agree to accept myself when I think negative thoughts about a situation I want to change.

4.  I commit to zero complaining about my life, people, and events.

5.  I agree not to be harsh with myself when I cannot shut my mind off.

6.  I agree to use worry, complaints and mind chatter to show me a larger self identity, one already free inside.

7.  I agree to use play and humor as ladders to raise me out of mental noise.

Let each of these work themselves into your awareness throughout the day. I suggest you say each one effortlessly yet strongly.

If you really want to accelerate their power, put your hand on your heart and commit to incorporating them. Whisper each one to yourself.

Rise above complaints. See them as truly USELESS and they will fall away naturally.

A Simple Way To Increase Self-Love

A powerful way to help us remember our own uniqueness is to give compliments to other people. 

Find other people who have a quality you admire, and offer them a genuine compliment about it or about their success.

Send a note, an email, a letter, or verbally or silently compliment people who have what you want, and this will take you RIGHT INTO a remembrance of yourself as a masterpiece. 

Test it out right now. 


Appreciate others by ROUTE of appreciating yourself.  Nourish yourself as you offer them compliments. 

Do this with at least five people, or until you feel better.

Awakening Yourself through Conscious 180 Degree Turns

Years ago I was addicted to positive thinking.  I had found a book on stating affirmations, and I ran with it.  For almost three years non-stop I did my darnedest to hold onto positive thoughts.

"I am at peace,” I declared despairingly.  “I'm rich," I repeated hungrily.  “Romance is manifesting," I insisted longingly.  

Nothing much changed.  While taking a walk in a park one day, I said to myself “To hell with it!  It’s time for a 180!"  I stopped in my tracks, took a deep breath, and decided to give negative thinking a try.  I dug around in my head for the most godforsaken, pessimistic thoughts I could find.  I began very deliberately and consciously: “Everyday in every way I am getting worse and worse," "I am poor and getting poorer," “I am worthless and afraid." 

Instantly, I laughed a big cosmic laugh.  Within minutes, this spiritually rebellious act catapulted me completely out of despair.  In fact, it sparked a whole new course in my life which, over time, brought with it a lasting larger perspective on the utter rightness of everything inside me.  It fostered a much quieter mind, a deeper sense of self, and an intuitive feeling inside that I am not just my mind.  I am the Self that surrounds and experiences my mind.

Sometimes we have to go from one extreme to another to find the Center of our Self.

A zen teaching:
A student asked Soen Nakagawa during a meditation retreat: "I am very discouraged. What should I do?"
Soen replied, "Encourage others."

Some 180 degree turns to consider:

If taking lots of action is not helping...  trying slowing down for a while..

If trying to make money is not working so well... try giving some away..

If talking a lot in conversations is not fostering deep connection.... try asking questions and listening more closely...

If seeking approval is not happening... ...try giving approval instead.
